The Deer Stags “Saturn” is one of the best, longest-lasting, and certainly most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned. It works for business or casual style dress and is always a pleasure to wear. I’ve owned some Skechers and other shoes in this price range that were not nearly as comfy. . . some hurt my feet from the beginning and took a long while to break in – this isn’t a problem with Deer Stags. They feel fantastic the first time you slip them on – just bought another pair!

I’ve also owned the equally pleasureable Deer Stags “Times” shoe. Very comfy, but more business and less casual. Now i’m thinking of trying a slip-on next.

I’d give it a hundred stars if I could. Not only are these shoes well-formed, and well-padded, but they’re extraordinarily slippery inside, so there’s no soreness anywhere on the feet, no matter how hard or irregular the walking-surface or how lengthy the walk. These shoes are the ultimate in comfort, and their appearance is acceptable for just about any use. I have no complaints at all about them, which is the first time in my life that I can say that about any shoe, of any type.

Faux leather won’t take a shine, but they are comfortable just for factory work or times you want to dress down.

Perhaps it is because I have wide feet, or maybe because I bought them a half-size too huge, these shoes lasted only about six months before they started developing cracks in the outer layer of material at the toes.

The initial quality is fine, and the laces never got frayed at the lengths where they pass through the top ring loops, but if you’re looking for work shoes that can last you for a while, these aren’t your best choice. They are inexpensive, and until the cracks form they look excellent, but once that outer shell of material by the toes starts to crack, it’s game over. Not sure how I would repair them, and it’s not worth the distress in any case.

One thing I noticed is they have decent grip on ice in the winter – the walkway to my office is notorious for icing up quick in wet weather in the cold, and these let me walk with a excellent deal of confidence, even when carrying heavy objects and not able to see where I was stepping. A excellent deal, but don’t expect them to last much longer than six to eight months.

Update: The above was a few months ago. For the past two weeks, I have been using these as house-shoes, to wear around the house yet still be able to go outside or something without having to look for your sneakers. They fit a bit loose, so they’re simple to slip into, and they’re very comfortable. Wouldn’t mow the lawn in these, or go out for the night, but if I gotta go somewhere quick, I don’t have to find my sneakers, I can just bounce.

This shoe looks pretty excellent in this listing, and looks pretty excellent when you place it on too. But the faux leather is worthless; after a month of MILD wear, it’s cracked all over.
